Practice Management Institute (PMI) today announced that its training partnership with the health system has reported high employee satisfaction, retention and loyalty for its physicians, mid-level healthcare providers and administrative employees.

Hendrick Health System is a not-for-profit, community-focused healthcare network located in Abilene, Texas. The system serves 19 counties in the state, helping people access a variety of cutting-edge healthcare services. As part of its community focus, Hendrick’s leadership is heavily invested in educational opportunities, which enable healthcare providers and other staff members to provide care at the highest skill levels possible.

Since 2014, experts from PMI have worked with Hendrick employees to increase their knowledge base and skill sets. Early on, focus centered on the ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM transition, with clinicians learning various techniques for medical coding and provider compliance. In 2016, PMI trainers conducted 22 separate classes, with help from a partial Texas Workforce Development grant and in partnership with Texas State Technical College, to train Hendrick Health office managers in HIPAA and medical compliance. Medical coding, billing and other subjects for front office staff members were also presented.

As part of a new educational curriculum, PMI will continue to offer unique opportunities for Hendrick staff members to receive the education they need in order to be successful with medical administrative tasks. Fifteen classes will take place in the coming months, focused on medical coding, billing, compliance, management, and front office skills. Physicians, mid-level providers, office managers and office staff all stand to benefit from this incredible variety of educational opportunities.
