Mercy College Announces Adam J. Castro as the New Vice President of Admissions
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (PRWEB) March 27, 2018 -- Mercy College has appointed Adam J. Castro as Vice President of Admissions. He will join the College on June 1 and will oversee the College’s admissions and marketing efforts. Currently the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Bloomfield College, Castro has 15 years of experience in higher education.
Castro was selected by Mercy College President Tim Hall following a comprehensive search that produced a highly qualified applicant pool. In making the announcement, President Hall said, “I couldn’t be more excited that Adam Castro is joining the Mercy senior team. His energy, his knowledge of enrollment strategies, and his commitment to Mercy’s transformational mission will take the college’s admissions to a new level.”

While at Bloomfield College, Castro lead the effort to enroll the five largest freshman classes in the College’s history, increased enrollment for academically aspirant freshmen by 30 percent, developed the first Early Action Program and recently lead the College in its move to a test-optional admission policy. Complementing traditional strategies with technological solutions, Castro possesses broad expertise in key areas including predictive modeling, digital marketing, and customer relationship management systems. Known for his leadership and mentoring, Castro expresses that he is most proud of the energetic, collaborative, and cohesive work environment that he has helped foster and which he plans to make a hallmark of his tenure at Mercy.
Castro is an active member of numerous organizations including the National Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC), the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), Association of International Educators (NAFSA) and the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in New Jersey (AICUNJ). He is also co-host of Admissions Live, a monthly professional development program on the Higher Ed Live network.
A New Jersey resident, Castro received his master’s degree in Public Administration from Kean University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies from the Rutgers University School of Communication and Library Studies.
