Argentina’s President Selects Belatrix’s CEO To Key Council To Help Grow The Knowledge-Based Economy
MENDOZA, Argentina (PRWEB) March 28, 2018 -- Luis Robbio, CEO and Co-founder of Belatrix Software, a leading software development company, has been selected by Argentina’s President as one of the top 20 business and economic leaders of the future, and will form part of a new “Knowledge Commission”. Robbio is the only entrepreneur selected from Mendoza. The objective of the Knowledge Commision is to boost economic growth via the knowledge-based economy and technology innovation.
The Argentine government is seeking to grow what it calls “knowledge-based services”, which incorporates areas from software development to professional services. The purpose is to build a new Argentine economy, one that is characterized by technological innovation, and high-value services. The Commission will be tasked with finding ways of making this a reality within the next 10 years.
Meanwhile, last week Luis Robbio spoke at the annual assembly of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), held in Mendoza, Argentina. Nearly one thousand businessmen and women attended the event, along with leading politicians from across the Americas, including Alfredo Cornejo, the Governor of Mendoza.
The event focused on measures to increase the amount of infrastructure investment throughout Latin America, as well as how best to promote the region internationally in order to achieve sustainable growth. Alfredo Cornejo, outlined the attractiveness of Mendoza to international businesses.
Luis Robbio spoke on the panel together with Rogelio Frigerio, Argentina’s Interior Minister, and several other international executives from organizations including Walmart. He highlighted how knowledge-based services have become a core part of regional economies, in particular in Mendoza. He also spoke about the impact of technology and the importance of developing high-value services. On the discussion of technology, Luis Robbio stated that “technology both destroys and creates jobs. The question is where do you stand?”. He highlighted the potential of technology, and software in particular, to drive economic growth and create new opportunities, particular in new areas ranging from the internet of things to blockchain. However, for Argentina to be prepared to take advantage of these opportunities it must invest more in education.
Luis Robbio, CEO and Co-founder of Belatrix, commented after the event “I am delighted to be part of President Macri’s Council to grow the knowledge-based economy in our country. I believe we must emphasize education, and better prepare young people for careers in the knowledge economy. I was also delighted to share Belatrix’s international experiences with the fellow attendees of the IDB conference, and am very positive about the future development of the region. Mendoza is recognized on the international stage as a province which is highly attractive for investment and for developing knowledge-based services.”
