The ZK-X is an extra strong knee brace for moderate to severe sprains of the ACL, MCL, and LCL. Its immediate lineage is Zamst’s ZK-7 knee brace, most notably worn by Denver Bronco, 2018 Pro Bowl MVP, and Zamst’s Elite Team Member, Von Miller. The unique lateral and medial hinged support system provides additional reinforcement to the knee joint and is the primary feature that differentiates the ZK-X from the ZK-7.
A knee sprain is a prevalent injury amongst football, soccer, lacrosse and basketball players and typically occurs when the ligaments that support the knee become overly stretched, or torn, due to external or internal factors. With such a common injury, Zamst has created a knee brace that reinforces and protects athletes struggling against such a sprain through their vast knowledge grounded in the medical field, their understanding of the human body and its limitations and their sophisticated product engineering.
“We created the ZK-X out of the demand from our retailers and customers who love the ZK-7, but needed additional support and protection,” said Lauren Fifield, Zamst U.S., Marketing Director. “After extensive market research, and wanting to stay true to our innovative nature, we were compelled to design a product that encompasses the best features and technology from the ZK-7, but also integrates a hinge system. The ZK-X is lighter and more comfortable than current hinge braces on the market, making it an attractive solution for those recovering from a ligament tear or knee sprain.”
The molded Exo-Skeleton on the ZK-X provides a 3-way ligament support to the knee. The brace’s individualized fit technology features a semi-open design and adjustable straps to help prevent slipping. The flyweight and lightweight material fabrication designed with V-Tech flow ventilation enhances cooling during activity. The ROM-Tech, or pre-curved design, allows for full range of motion so athletes feel supported, but never inhibited.
After thorough testing, the overall feedback for the ZK-X has been positive.
“The comfort and fit of the Zamst ZK-X is excellent,” said Chris Phillips, ATC, CSCS, Integrative Corrective Specialist and Founder of Compete Performance and Rehab. “It can be hard to get athletes to wear braces, but the feedback we have received from our athletes has been phenomenal."
