Resume Writing Academy (RWA) Announces Federal Resume Writer Training
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (PRWEB) March 29, 2018 -- The Resume Writing Academy announced a new and specialized course offering to its audience of 10,000 career service providers worldwide – the Academy Certified Federal Resume Writer program. Available starting April 6, this customized program addresses a growing need for resume writers to better understand the unique components of a resume submitted for federal employment. The program provides the tools experts need to coach clients on a task many consider complex and challenging – navigating the federal employment process.
Federal employment remains an attractive opportunity for many job seekers because of the associated traditional benefits, stability, and volume of openings. “More than 2 million Americans work for the federal government across the United States. Did you know the government has nearly 10,000 job openings right now?” asked Nancy Segal, RWA course instructor, seasoned federal employee and author of The Complete Guide to Interviewing for a Federal Job. “Too many professional writers are hesitant to write federal resumes. With this course, RWA seeks to increase writers’ confidence by teaching them the ins and outs of the process. We want to help writers ‘break the code’ of the federal hiring process so their clients can secure more interviews and solid job offers at the federal level.”
Helping clients apply for a position with the federal government is markedly different than applying for jobs in the private sector. In most cases, applications are processed through the often-intimidating USAJOBS system. The Academy Certified Federal Resume Writer program helps writers understand how the system works so they can properly advise their clients and write effective federal resumes.
The certification program covers how to read and understand a federal job posting, the federal application process, USAJOBS profile set-up, tips to translate military experience to civilian speak, and more.
The new program consists of eight hours of instructor-led training by Federal HR Expert Nancy Segal, sample resumes and example applications, and other tailored resources to guide this unique writing process.
