Stauffer Funeral Homes Sponsors Heroin’s Grip Documentary
FREDERICK, Md. (PRWEB) March 29, 2018 -- Stauffer Funeral Homes of Frederick, Maryland has made a $10,000 donation to the Up and Out Foundation in support of the Heroin’s Grip documentary that’s currently in production. “Deaths from heroin (and opioids) have risen sharply the past few years. Unfortunately, we see what it does to families firsthand, and it's heartbreaking. We cannot sit on the sidelines any longer and let this epidemic take over our community.” - George and Courtney Stauffer, Stauffer Funeral Homes.
“This donation comes at a critical time for the film,” says Director, Conrad Weaver. “Having the support of Frederick area businesses like Stauffer’s is vital in getting this story completed and delivered on time for our September premiere plans. We’re so thankful to the Stauffer family and organization for their commitment and dedication to helping us get this story out to the public. This is our community’s story, and we’re thankful for all the organizations, companies, and individuals who have made donations in support of this film.” Weaver states that he will make additional funding announcements soon, as several other companies and organizations have recently made commitments in support of the film.
Weaver’s company, ConjoStudios, LLC, and the Up and Out Foundation led by Korey Shorb and Sean Nicholson recently announced a partnership in the film project. A percentage of the proceeds generated by the film will be given back to the Up and Out Foundation to assist in their efforts to provide resources for those in the community who are seeking recovery.
