- “Steve Kaufman: Spring Has Sprung” from April 4 through April 29, 2018 at B.J. Spoke Gallery, 299 Main Street, Huntington, NY, featuring early iconic works by Steve Kaufman including his Warner Bros. Studio Store commissioned pieces and his Stan Lee superheroes collection. An opening reception will be held on Saturday evening, April 7 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. All activities are open to the public.
- “Steve Kaufman: American Pop Art, Inc., Booth 355 at the 40th Art Expo NYC” from April 19 through April 22, 2018 at Pier 94 at 711 12th Avenue, New York, NY. On exhibit will be Kaufman’s rare Uniques, and his one of a kind original paintings.
“Steve Kaufman exhibited at Art Expo every year until his passing. Now, we are continuing that path. We will be giving a Steve Kaufman art poster to all that stop by,” said Diana Vachier of Long Beach, NY, long time friend of Steve Kaufman, owner of American Pop Art, Inc., and sole heir to all of his licensing rights via Steve Kaufman Art Licensing LLC.
Both exhibitions will also offer newly available high quality, limited edition giclee prints on canvas. Diana Vachier and representative Dana Blum will be present at both events to answer any questions about Steve’s art, and to share some of his life stories.
All SAK art on display and for purchase is documented and registered in the official Steve Kaufman Catalogue Raisonné®, a comprehensive library of all his known works and used as a source of reference by collectors, galleries, and auction houses.
Steve Kaufman “SAK” (1960-2010) was a charismatic pop artist, activist, and humanitarian who painted icons and trends that captured the American spirit. In his early years, Steve Kaufman assisted Andy Warhol where he learned the art of silk screening. It was Warhol who gave Steve Kaufman the nickname “SAK” using Steve’s initials. After leaving Warhol’s Factory, Steve Kaufman evolved the art of silk screening by embellishing with oil paint and vivid colors favored by collectors worldwide.
Steve Kaufman paintings have been exhibited in museums around the world. Most recently, Steve Kaufman’s tribute painting “Homage to Picasso: Guernica 1997” joined the permanent collection at Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, Spain.
