Nike Running Camps Announces Summer 2018 Dates for Middle School Aged Campers
(PRWEB) April 04, 2018 -- Nike Running Camps boast a list of alumni who garnered All-American status, NCAA championships, and even Olympic medals. While it is easy for these athletes to stand on the podium and sport the façade of their success, it is important to recognize the work they put in, and the skills they learned along the way. A great deal of their success stems from the coaches they had in their younger running years.
“At Nike Running Camps we are proud to say we work with some of the best coaches in the country,” says Jan O’Connor Executive Vice President of US Sports Camps. This summer, runners ages 11-14 can enroll in specific middle school programs, geared specifically to their age group, and work with the countries top collegiate coaches. Green Mountain Running Camp (Meriden, NH), Smoky Mountain Running Camp (Asheville, NC), and Nike Raditude Cross Country Camp (Malibu, CA) offer advanced training for middle school athletes. “Our middle school sessions offer the unique opportunity for younger aged runners to get a head start on their future running goals. By training with top collegiate coaches they get a sense of what is expected to run at the next level,” says O’Connor.
Green Mountain Running Camp: Camp directors for the Green Mountain middle school program are Coaches Sam Losorelli and Johann Rogers. The staff also includes Cornell Coach Mike Henderson, for men’s cross country. He has coached previously at William & Mary as well as Princeton and Olympic athlete and 3x NCAA champion Andrew Wheating. The dates for the middle school session are July 22nd-27th, 2018.
Smoky Mountain Running Camp: The experienced Middle School Camp Director Bill Hackney has fine-tuned this specialty program for these young runners. Coach Alan Drosky enters his sixth summer as the camp director for Smoky Mountain. He has been the head coach for Georgia Teach men’s and women’s cross country teams for 23 years. He has coached a long list off All-Americans and was inducted into the Georgia Tech Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996. The dates for the middle school session are July 1st-6th, 2018.
Pepperdine: Coach Radnoti prepares to lead the Pepperdine men and women in both XC and track & field for his 12th season. Runners can expect to learn a great deal from Radnoti regarding directing your body and mind toward winning. The dates for the middle school session are June 25th-29th, 2018.
