nablet Releases Beta of mediaEngine v2 Simultaneous Multiformat Transcoder
Aachen, Germany and Las Vegas (PRWEB) April 09, 2018 -- nablet, a leading provider of media analysis and processing technologies, announced today that it will be demonstrating its new mediaEngine v2 at the 2018 NAB Show. The new version adds powerful, simultaneous processing that enables encoding in several formats concurrently. An example would be encoding to MPEG-2 XDCAM (MXF) while simultaneously creating a transport stream and MPEG-4 file.
Like the original mediaEngine, v2 supports live and file-based workflows equally well. It is especially ideal for OTT and VOD applications where incoming content needs to be converted efficiently to multiple formats. mediaEngine includes support for growing MXF files, enabling reading while writing.

We worked hard to enhance the threading model of our v2 engine, and further optimized our software codecs and other components including our color converter and deinterlacer.”
Available for Windows, macOS and Linux. mediaEngine comes as a command line transcoder as well as SDK for low-level integration into existing transcode workflows. It can be customized by using a virtual graph-style interface with branches as needed. A GUI version called mE Works is also available, for quickly testing speed and quality of the engine and the included nablet codecs.
The formal v2 release is scheduled for May, however nablet is making the beta available to select clients by request. Demo versions are available by e-mailing [email protected].
