Peco InspX Announces New Leak Testing Tool For Wet Wipes
SAN CARLOS, Calif. (PRWEB) April 09, 2018 -- One of the most difficult challenges in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical packaging space is to find leaks in sealed plastic pouches – particularly pouches that contain solid material such as a stack of wet wipes. Today there is no lack of sub-optimal solutions that either don’t robustly detect leaks or produce an unacceptably high false reject rate. Fortunately, Peco InspX and Fast Line Inspections has developed a leak detection solution for wet wipe packages that is mechanically simple, accurate and free from false rejects.
The Peco InspX Seal Tester can inspect most pouches containing wet wipes at speeds up to 300 pouches per minute and find holes as small as 1.0 mm. The Seal Tester works by learning the “squeeze profile” of each pouch type and then measures each inspected pouch against that profile. Pouches not matching the target profile contain holes or imperfect leaky seams and are ejected from the line.
“As a consumer, one of the most irritating experiences is buying a bag of wet wipes ( baby wipes, cleaning wipes, etc) and finding them all dry inside because of a leak in the package. Fortunately, wet wipe manufacturers can eliminate this source of customer complaints through the use of the Seal Tester,” remarked Peco InspX CEO Rich Cisek.
In addition to being able to inspect bags of wet wipes, the Seal Tester can also evaluate gas or liquid filled pouches such as bags of vegetables, snacks, etc. It’s exceptionally to do an online video demonstration of the seal testing process and so Peco InspX encourages prospective customers to submit their test samples for evaluation.
