Unique Photo and New Jersey Monthly Launch Cover Photo Contest
FAIRFIELD, N.J. (PRWEB) April 05, 2018 -- Do you have what it takes to shoot the perfect magazine cover? Unique Photo, New Jersey’s largest camera and video superstore, has partnered with New Jersey Monthly magazine for a 2018 Cover Search Contest. This is the first time in the magazine’s 42-year history that a submitted photo from the public will appear on the cover.
The sponsors invite amateur, professional and student photographers to capture the essence of the Garden State — from our sunny shores to verdant mountains, from our sparkling urban skylines to our expanse of farmlands, and everything in between.
Photographers, who must be New Jersey residents, can submit one photo per month in the competition, which runs through October 1, 2018, in any of four content categories — Architectural, Landscape/Nature, Lifestyle, Special (abstract, conceptual, long exposure, etc.) — or in the Student category (grades 7 to 12). Black-and-white and color photos shot in a vertical format and taken after January 1, 2017 are accepted. Photos cannot be digitally altered, except in the “Special” category.
With each submission’s $15 entry fee, photographers will also support a good cause: The sponsors are donating a portion of the proceeds to the Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey.
All eligible photos will be displayed in the magazine’s contest gallery. At the end of the six-month submission period, Unique Photo and New Jersey Monthly will choose 50 finalists, with an expert panel of judges making the final selection of a grand-prize winner, an overall runner-up, five category winners and five category runners-up. The Grand Prize winning photo will grace the December 2018 cover of New Jersey Monthly. Winners of each category will be awarded special prizes from Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Olympus, and more.
Prizes include:
- Grand Prize: A photographic equipment package, including a Nikon D850 camera with 24-120mm lens, Tenba messenger bag and Manfrotto tripod (total retail value: $4,849.99).
- Runner-Up: A Canon 5D Mark IV camera (retail value: $3,299.99).
- Category Winners: Cameras from Fujifilm, Sony, Panasonic and Olympus, ranging in retail price from $549 to $998.
- Student Winner: Sigma 18-300mm Contemporary Lens (retail value $399).
- Category Runners-Up (5): $100 gift cards from Unique Photo.
