Battleship Texas Foundation Holds Annual Partnership with Baron Engraving for Commemorative 1911s
HOUSTON (PRWEB) April 06, 2018 -- The Battleship Texas Foundation is partnering with Baron Engraving to release a custom, commemorative 1911 Colt .45 to raise funds to help save the Battleship TEXAS (BB-35).
The newly designed 1911 will feature silver and gold-plated engravings of the USS Texas on the barrel – allowing buyers to own a piece of history and help fund The Battleship Texas Foundation’s efforts. Each limited-edition pistol purchased will receive a serial number in tandem with the order. All purchases are tax exempt, due to the Foundation’s 501c, non-profit, status.
“We are honored to be partnering with such a recognized company like Baron Engraving,” states Bruce Bramlett, executive director of Battleship Texas Foundation. “Through their dedicated partnership, we are able to raise funds for our mission to save and dry berth the USS Texas.”
The price of collector’s edition pistol is $1,799 and will be available through May 31, 2018. The Battleship Texas Foundation is also giving each collector a paperweight made from the original steel removed from the USS Texas during the latest rounds of repairs, a total value of $150. All proceeds garnered will be put toward The Battleship Texas Foundation’s efforts of saving the Battleship TEXAS, from restorations, renovations, to a permanent dry birth.
Baron Engraving merges centuries-old hand-engraving techniques with modern technology to help create highly collectible limited-edition pistol that honors Battleship Texas. In the past, the partnership sold approximately 1,200 pistols.
“We could not be prouder of the opportunity to work with the Battleship Texas Foundation. Preserving our heritage and history is a great challenge, and I urge everyone to visit and experience the grandeur and emotional surge that a visit to the USS Texas can bring.”
