GovSense, a leading cloud-based software solution provider for state and local government, has been recognized by the City of Alpharetta, Georgia, as a Business of Excellence. The City of Alpharetta hosts an annual Business Awards Breakfast to recognize a select group of Alpharetta companies that are leaders in their industries and have won an award or special distinction in the previous year from any local or national organizations. In 2017, GovSense was recognized as a GovTech 100 company by Government Technology magazine.
The recognition breakfast event took place March 29th at The Hotel at Avalon. In addition to celebrating award-winning local organizations like InnoVergent, the event presented an opportunity for the 200 businesses being honored to come together and learn from one another. Local figures such as Alpharetta Economic Development Director Peter Tokar and Alpharetta Mayor Donald F. Mitchell were in attendance, and spoke on recent and new developments occurring in Alpharetta.
In response to the recognition, Gary McTall, GovSense co-founder remarked, “GovSense is incredibly proud to be an active part of the Alpharetta community. The City of Alpharetta has seen us grow since day one, and being recognized as a Business of Excellence confirms our commitment to providing the best possible solutions for state and local government while keeping a positive company culture for our team.”
This year the award is particularly special for GovSense, as the company has recently announced their partnership with the City of Alpharetta, providing their cloud-based software solutions to help the city’s Economic Development department manage business expansion and retention while improving interdepartmental communication.
Former Alpharetta Mayor David Belle Isle gave the opening remarks at the Business of Excellence event, putting a strong emphasis on the correlation between successful businesses and successful communities. “The greatness of a city depends upon the greatness of its opportunities. The greatness of a city’s opportunities depends upon the greatness of its business,” he stated.
Event sponsors included Awesome Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce and The Hotel at Avalon.
GovSense built the first unified, true-cloud solution designed specifically for local government. GovSense empowers jurisdictions with flexible, easy-to-use software that enables collaboration in finance and accounting, budgeting, utility billing, fund and project management, economic development, asset management, GIS, inspections and enforcement, planning, and permitting and licensing. In addition, the company’s implementation approach is driven by business processes, not technology. GovSense utilizes the agile implementation methodology that results in rapid time to value for all jurisdictions, regardless of what challenges specific departments face. The company delivers user-friendly software solutions tailored to jurisdictions’ requirements in weeks, not months or years.
