Index Engines Enhances Data Governance Reporting and Analysis
HOLMDEL, NJ (PRWEB) April 11, 2018 -- Information management company Index Engines announced a new custom reporting feature that provides multidimensional reports as well as support for Tableau reporting within its enterprise software platforms.
These enhancements empower organizations to define the metadata parameters of their reports as well as making all report data available for download as CSV files or Tableau® Data Extract files. In addition, the reports can be exported directly to a Tableau Server.
The Index Engines interface provides a custom report builder that lets users select one or more properties with which to group the query results, and one or more values to display for the results in each group. This new multidimensional reporting feature allows for complex analysis of large volumes of data.
“Many of our customers are challenged with developing sound data policies in support of governance and regulatory requirements,” said Jim McGann, Index Engines vice president. “Enhancing the integrated reporting capabilities in the product as well as adding support for Tableau enables comprehensive analytical and visualization of enterprise data assets to improve management and streamline decision making.”
Tableau is a Seattle-based software company that produces interactive data visualization products focused on business intelligence. Importing data into Tableau makes it easier to understand and analyze multiple variables.
Index Engines’ patented software delivers governance over user-created data by providing actionable intelligence of files and emails across all tiers of storage including legacy backup tapes.
Leveraging powerful, enterprise-class indexing, classification and management capabilities; organizations are empowered to regulate data center costs and resources as well as help control and secure sensitive data according to corporate policies in order to manage risk.
Index Engines dynamic reporting includes:
- Metadata including dates, file types, hosts, size, owner
- User data by department using AD integration
- Keyword, Boolean, pattern, conceptual search
- Flexible search options to find personal data
“With the increased pressure from data breaches and regulations including the EU GDPR, business users are faced with the need to improve their information management policies across hundreds of terabytes and even petabytes of data,” McGann added. “These new reporting capabilities will help them understand the areas of risk and waste very clearly and empower them to create policy and take action on their data.”
