SAE International is excited to announce that registration is now open for the COMVEC Technology Connection. More than 600 attendees will converge upon the Hyatt Regency O'Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Ill., Sept. 11-13, 2018, to discuss this year’s theme: Disruptive Technologies.

COMVEC™ is the premier event for the engineering community that develops vehicles and equipment spanning the on- and off-highway, agricultural, construction, industrial, military, and mining sectors. The need to increase safety, reduce CO2 emissions, and improve vehicle efficiencies for fuel savings is what drives the research and technology across the commercial vehicle market. The technical program will explore several critical topics, including improvements in internal combustion engines, autonomous vehicles, and fuel efficiencies gained through aerodynamics, braking, and platooning.

SAE is proud to announce that Navistar will serve as this year’s COMVEC host company. Dennis “Denny” Mooney, Senior Vice President Global Product Development, Navistar, assumes the role of 2018 Executive Chairman in charge of Executive Leadership.

This year COMVEC features a multi-symposia format highlighting two of the industry’s hottest topics: The Evolution of Big Data for Advanced Technology and Commercial Vehicle Efficiency Improvements, plus a variety of technical panels including Aerodynamics, Chassis Design, Powertrain, and Total Vehicle Mechatronics & Integration. Additionally, COMVEC provides forums, presentations, and discussions on CAE applications, Cybersecurity updates, and the direction of SAE Standards activities with industry leaders and innovators, focusing on global issues relative to technology, business, processes, and challenges facing the industry today and tomorrow.

COMVEC will provide exposure to the latest tools and proven solutions for the on- and off-road commercial vehicle industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from key thought leaders on current challenges, initiatives, and advanced technology to address issues and discover the latest supply chain innovations from around the globe. The symposium also allows attendees to develop professional relationships with companies developing cutting-edge technologies that advance the commercial vehicle market.
