Yamaha Drums Welcomes Conor Rayne of Brasstracks to the Company’s Legendary Artist Roster
BUENA PARK, Calif. (PRWEB) April 11, 2018 -- Yamaha Drums announced today the signing of New York-based drummer, composer and producer Conor Rayne of the GRAMMY Award-winning duo Brasstracks.
The duo has collaborated with a growing list of acclaimed artists including Anderson Paak, Khalid, GoldLink and Robert Glasper; they earned their GRAMMY nod for producing Chance The Rapper’s “No Problem.” Conor can also be heard playing drums on heralded singer Kate Davis’ upcoming release, as well as performing live with renowned bassist Chris Morrissey.
Conor’s kit of choice is the Yamaha Tour Custom with Butterscotch Satin finish, which allows him to combine projection and expressive capability with 100% maple 6-ply shells. Additionally, Conor will be playing the Yamaha 14” x 5.5” Recording Custom Aluminum (RAS1465) snare, using 800 series hardware and will be utilizing the new EAD10 electronic acoustic drum module for online videos.
Picking up the sticks for the first time at the age of six, Conor increased his chops through formal lessons with a variety of New York- and New Jersey-based drummers including Mark Guiliana, Billy Hart, Jeff Hirshfield. Conor later attended Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with John Riley and met Brasstracks partner Ivan Jackson.
“I’ve always loved the versatility of Yamaha,” said Rayne. “With the Tour Custom, I can really dig in and the drums project with power and warmth. It also catches my quieter, more dynamic moments with crystal clarity. I play a lot of different genres and these drums work for all of them!”
Conor is currently touring with Brasstracks on a North American headlining tour.
