Taylor & Francis Group today announce a new partnership with leading AI technology providers UNSILO to help enrich customers’ online experiences.

From February, online users of taylorfrancis.com are being shown recommendations of additional, highly relevant content based on what they are already reading. This will enable users to discover more easily new research.

This new functionality is made possible with sophisticated semantic technology using Natural Language Processing which can analyse vast amounts of text to recognize the sentiment and topic and extract the most important concepts.

This newly-formed partnership is part of a long-term commitment by Taylor & Francis to improve the discoverability of content highly relevant to users, allowing for enhanced learning and knowledge-sharing by customers.

"We are very pleased to be partnering with UNSILO as our semantic enrichment partner", commented Max Gabriel, CDO Taylor & Francis Group. "They are an impressive team with long-term vision that fits with ours. We were particularly impressed that UNSILO's concept extraction engine works equally well in any subject domain, which makes it simple to deploy across our wide range of content."

Carlos Cubas, VP, Architecture & Engineering, commented: "We are happy to partner with UNSILO in what is to be the first of many AI developments at Taylor & Francis. Using their API-based services, we will be able to implement a simple and rapid deployment of state-of-the-art machine learning tools to improve researchers’ user journey.”

Thomas Laursen, Chief Executive Officer at UNSILO, stated: “We are extremely excited to be partnering with one of the world’s leading publishers of scholarly content, and to deliver tools for linking related content using our document enrichment platform. We appreciate the engagement and vision shown by Taylor & Francis and look forward to a valuable long-term strategic relationship.”
