The tablet, designed to enhance the company’s white glove, high-touch approach, is now available and will be rolled out to all existing clients starting in May.
Named for Alliance Homecare co-founder and CEO Greg Solometo’s grandmother, Valma (VAL), the tablet and its proprietary, customized technology enables families to stay connected with the entire care team 24/7 in real time with phone, video and messaging capabilities. The tablet also provides informative and entertaining content for the client.
The tablet includes a caregiver check-in/check-out, the ability to view documents and care plans, and internet connectivity to visit favorite websites. Using the tablet, clients are also able to track daily mood, pain, sleep and appetite; watch wellness programming; do basic exercises; access family photos; watch movies on Netflix; read books on Kindle; and listen to favorites like Frank Sinatra or Benny Goodman through Pandora.
All Alliance caregivers are being trained to help facilitate VAL. The proprietary tablet will be introduced into more than 100 client homes over the summer and to all new long-term admissions going forward.
