Fresh off completing his 14th season as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach of Sacred Heart University, Joe Barroso is set to lead both Nike Girls & Boys Soccer Camps at Sacred Heart this summer.

Campers have the privilege to learn from a soccer enthusiast who has served as a long-time player and coach.

A native of Portugal, Coach Joe Barroso has spent time playing professionally in Europe and the United States. He played with the U.S. national team in 1990-’91. Campers can expect to gain plenty of new soccer skills when they attend camp this summer.

“Coach Barroso eats, sleeps, and breathes soccer. Campers have the privilege to learn from a soccer enthusiast who has served as a long-time player and coach,” says Renee Chapman VP of Nike Soccer Camps. Barroso makes the shift this year to lead the two weeks of the Nike Girls Soccer Camp as well. “We are excited that Joe will lead both sessions. Joe received Coach of the Year honors while leading the Sacred Heart Women’s Team in 1994-95’, as well as with the Men’s team in 2010.”

Campers will receive position specific instruction, as well as a variety of offensive and defensive schemes. Warm up activities, drills, game play, and spirited competition fill out this action-packed camp
