Maryland Governor Larry Hogan yesterday joined Thompson Creek Window Company President and CEO Rick Wuest for a private factory tour of its 117,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Three years ago, Governor Hogan attended Thompson Creek’s groundbreaking ceremony to support the Company’s creation of new job opportunities and contribution to strengthening the local economy. Yesterday, Governor Hogan joined the assembly line to help build a Thompson Creek double hung window made of the highest quality materials – yielding resiliency and maximum energy efficiency in the mid-Atlantic climate. Governor Hogan also inspected the window for quality assurance before it was wrapped and ready to be shipped to a proud homeowner.
“It’s such a great pleasure to be here at Thompson Creek. I’m impressed with the growth of this company, and the quality of the product that they manufacture. I’ve met some incredible people, and we’re happy they’re creating so many jobs here in Maryland,” said Governor Hogan. “Thompson Creek is a shining example of what our administration wants for Maryland – growing, thriving businesses that provide the hardworking people of our state with great jobs and a strong economy.”
Governor Hogan is the most recent in a long list of distinguished political leaders who have visited Thompson Creek Window Company and recognized the Company for its leadership in manufacturing, construction and the overall business community. Some of these notable previous visitors include President of the United States Barack Obama (2011), Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker (2011, 2014), Maryland President of the Senate Mike Miller (2015), U.S. Senator from Maryland, Ben Cardin (2015) and Congressman Anthony G. Brown (2017).
Thompson Creek Window Company also recently relocated its headquarters a mile down the road from their previous office to a more modern, six-story, 122,000-square-foot commercial building that accommodates more than 150 employees. The newly renovated office features a full 360° view throughout the office, an outdoor patio, open environment concept and new fitness facility.
