Principal agent of Shepherd Insurance Group, John Shepherd, is announcing the launch of a charity drive in the Berkeley County area to raise support for the local Relay For Life event. Hosted by the American Cancer Society, the Relay event celebrates cancer survivors and raises donations for cancer research.

“We hope to bring our community together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society make a global impact on cancer,” stated Shepherd.

Efforts to involve the general public in the charity event will include a referral system to help generate donations for the Relay event. For every person referred into Shepherd Insurance Group for a no cost insurance appraisal, the team will issue a $10 donation to help support the Relay and fund cancer research.
