“Our clients find our software very user friendly” explained Vice President of Sales and Marketing Michael Armanious. “Using a WMS that is easier for users to understand and use cuts down on the expense of training time and helps to reduce errors” he explained.

Supply chain software developer Datex announced new easy-to-use functionality to help software users find specific information needed in only seconds. Using the Datex Query Builder, users can filter and sort data easily then save it and use it for a variety of purposes such as to create views and build waves.
Datex query functionality enables users to retrieve information from the warehouse management system database by applying a set of filters to locate specific information. Users can build queries against whatever data subset is desired, including orders, lots, materials, carriers, ship dates and more. The query builder functionality includes the ability to include or exclude data based on “and/or” conditions, fields, operators and values. The new query functionality enables users to make complex inquiries using multiple fields and conditions so that the system filters the data for the user.
The visual query builder can also work with user defined fields (UDFs). Once the query has been applied, information retrieved can be used to create views that can be named, saved and shared.
Datex introduced the query builder functionality as part of its effort to improve the user experience. The software developer continues to focus on more ways it can make its software easy to learn, use and master. “Our clients find our software very user friendly,” explained Vice President of Sales and Marketing Michael Armanious. “These days, turnover in warehouses and 3PL operations is about 33% annually. Using a WMS that is easier for users to understand and use cuts down on the expense of training time and helps to reduce errors,” he explained.
Another time-saving feature of Datex Query Builder is the ability to easily build Watch Lists. Users can use the query functionality to develop lists of data fields that regularly requires their attention. This data can be set up in Watch Lists so that the user can be alerted any time the query entity meets the specific criteria established in the query, for example, overdue shipments.
The query builder functionality also ties into Datex workflow functionality. Datex FootPrint WMS relies on Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation. Datex FootPrint WMS relies on workflow to automate operational processes. The warehouse management software can use information generated from queries to drive functions including workflow-based wave building.
