Shape Products, a premier U.S. manufacturer and distributor of glass and plastic products to the largest nationwide retailers, today announced that it has acquired two companies, Horsefeathers Studios, LLC and Poly 3D Pro. These strategic acquisitions complement Shape Product's manufacturing capabilities with design and 3D prototyping resources that will help to reduce product design cycle costs and expand into new vertical markets. Both companies are already serving customers from the aerospace, automotive, recreational sports vehicles, and various other industrial spaces that can be leveraged by Shape Products to enter new markets with new products.

“The challenge for all manufacturers is designing new products fast enough to meet market demands,” said Rock Eiden, Chairman and CEO of Shape Products. “The typical approach to designing and prototyping plastic, glass and other products can take weeks and 10s of thousands of dollars. By utilizing 3D printing, timeframe and costs can be dramatically reduced with the right engineering resources in place. Time compression in product development is everything. On a recent customer project we replaced machined metal tooling with 3D printed tooling in only a few days at a fraction of the cost compared to using traditional methods."

Shape Products can now offer world-class, product development, large-scale 3D printing integration into the manufacturing processes with hybrid composite and carbon fiber manufacturing as well as other high tech capabilities. The expansion of Shape Products staff with engineers, designers and creative personnel can now handle a broad spectrum of services from custom prototyping to finished manufactured products. By blending inspiration, old school craftsmanship and work ethic with cutting edge high tech, Shape Products enters a new stage as a proven manufacturing company that enables a high-tech agility to address new markets and revenue opportunities.
