BERWYN, Penn. (PRWEB) April 17, 2018
SkillSurvey, the leading provider of cloud-based solutions that help organizations hire with faster, more reliable insights, announced today the launch of new texting capabilities available within SkillSurvey ReferenceTM that allow recruiters, job candidates and their references to communicate and facilitate reference check requests via text messaging (SMS).
“SkillSurvey continues to see increased mobile usage from recruiters, candidates and their references,” said SkillSurvey President and CEO Ray Bixler. “A growing segment of the population has expanded its use of mobile devices and texting to replace computers and email completely and by adding texting abilities to SkillSurvey Reference, provides employers with more options to reach candidates and their references faster and more conveniently.”
Employers are able to determine if all candidates or only certain divisions or workforce segments receive text communications. Candidates and their references can choose to opt-out of receiving the text-based communications and use email instead.
SkillSurvey has seen a 487 percent increase in candidates using mobile devices to request their references over the past five years (2012-2017). Overall, references who use a mobile device, submit their surveys 18 percent faster than references who use a PC, meaning that the reference feedback can be in the hands of the hiring manager in less than two days.
According to a Pew Research Center study, more than two-thirds of Americans now have a smartphone and texting is the most widely and frequently used app on a smartphone. The study also found growing use of smartphones by users for their career searches with 43 percent using them to look up information about a job and 18 percent using them to submit a job application. The Pew Study also found that 10 percent of smartphone users do not have any other form of high-speed internet access at home beyond their phone’s data plan.
SkillSurvey’s research on mobile trends among candidates and their references has found that candidates in roles requiring little training, education and experience have the highest percentage of mobile use (41 percent) to request their references, and 50 percent of their references complete the reference check using a mobile device. These numbers differ from those of candidates applying for roles that require extensive training, education and experience, as 19 percent of these candidates, and 28 percent of their references, use mobile devices.
SkillSurvey Reference has dramatically reduced the time that recruiters have to spend making phone calls and documenting information. SkillSurvey Reference is used by more than 10,000 recruiters to check references for more than 100,000 candidates each month; more than 20 million candidates and references have experienced SkillSurvey Reference. On average, these organizations are getting feedback from 4.5 references per candidate and have access to a reference feedback report in less than two business days.
