THE COLONY, Texas (PRWEB) April 19, 2018 -- The LSU Alumni Association Dallas Chapter will hold its annual crawfish boil at Lava Cantina – The Colony on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The event is open to the public, and tickets are available for purchase via the LSU Alumni Dallas website (http://www.lsualumnidallas.com) or by calling the Lava Cantina box office at 214-618-9882. There will be music, games for children, food, drinks (while supplies last), and a live auction. The annual crawfish boil is the biggest fundraiser for the Dallas Alumni Chapter, whose scholarship program sends four high school seniors from the Dallas area to LSU.
Over 3,000 lbs of Louisiana’s best crawfish (provided by Cajun Crawfish Company), potatoes and corn will be cooked on site, along with other Lava Cantina entrée choices to be announced soon. Entertainment will include a live DJ, the LSU baseball game on TV, and a live auction. Items up for auction include the blue dog "A Number One Tiger Fan" framed print by George Rodrigue, a private dinner for six people by James Beard award-nominee Chef Tre Wilcox, and a four-ticket package for a regular season Dallas Cowboys game. Following the crawfish boil, Cowboy Mouth will take the stage at 7:00 pm.
The Dallas Chapter is one of the largest LSU Alumni Chapters outside the state of Louisiana. The Board of Directors meets monthly to plan and execute our activities, publish the quarterly newsletter and fund scholarships for LSU students. We actively support LSU’s outreach program to area high school students considering attending an out-of-state university.
