Announcing New Graph and Data Visualization Applications for AWS Amazon Neptune and Neo4j from Tom Sawyer Software
BERKELEY, Calif. (PRWEB) May 15, 2018 -- Tom Sawyer Software, the global leader in graph and data visualization and analysis technology, announces the release of Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Version 8.1, Java Edition. Tom Sawyer Perspectives is an enterprise software development platform for building graph and data visualization and analysis applications. It can also be configured for Model-Based Engineering, Business Process, and visualizing and analyzing graph databases as a Graph Database Browser.
The Graph Database Browser is new and supports Amazon Neptune and Neo4j databases in Version 8.1. It is the first and only end-to-end graph and data visualization application for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Amazon Neptune—a new fully-managed graph database service in Preview. The application makes it easy for any users to see, navigate, filter, analyze, and validate their data without writing code. To try a free demonstration, click here.
Customers and evaluators can use Version 8.1 to rapidly design and build visualization and analysis applications for Amazon Neptune and Neo4j databases using the new schema extraction feature in the Tom Sawyer Perspectives Designer.
Version 8.1 also includes improved layout performance for nested drawings with many interdrawing edges in our Graph and Data Visualization Software Development Kit (SDK), a new high-level view of processes in our Business Process solution, and incremental data loading and nested connectors in our Model-Based Engineering solution.
"Customers are excited about our robust integration with Neo4j and Amazon Neptune and the new web-based Graph Database Browser," said Brendan Madden, Chief Executive of Tom Sawyer Software. "The market is showing strong interest in fully-managed, cloud-based systems like Amazon Neptune, Oracle Bare Metal Cloud, and No Magic Teamwork Cloud. In addition, we provide on-premise installation for Neo4j, No Magic, Oracle, and many other platforms."
Version 8.1 offers new and enhanced functionality including:
Enhanced Tom Sawyer Graph and Data Visualization SDK, featuring:
- 65% speed improvement in the layout of nested graphs with many interdrawing edges
- Overlap-free orthogonal layout with connector and node growth model
- Slope-end routing that connects multiple edges to a single fixed-size connector
- Orthogonal routing that connects multiple edges to a variable-size connector
- The addition of graph analysis algorithms built into the graphical Tom Sawyer Perspectives Designer, reducing the need to write custom code
- New unparalleled support for AWS Amazon Neptune
- Automatic schema extraction support for Amazon Neptune and Neo4j
- Circular layout with improved node placement within clusters
New Tom Sawyer Graph Database Browser, featuring:
- Support for Amazon Neptune, Neo4j, and Apache TinkerPop™ Gremlin
- End-to-end support of Amazon Neptune including the ability to load data from Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) into Amazon Neptune, so you don't have to learn a new command line tool
- Ability to browse, visualize, and run graph analytics such as social network analysis, shortest path, betweenness centrality, and many others
Enhanced Tom Sawyer Business Process, featuring:
- A new process map that provides a high-level view of the processes you have defined and the relationships between these processes. Now business process designers and management can visualize the entire landscape of processes and their relationships. They can interactively add processes without having to model all the steps in the new processes.
- Expanded search capabilities, new tree view filtering, and clickable document badges so business process designers and end users can quickly find what they're looking for
Enhanced Tom Sawyer Model-Based Engineering, featuring:
- Improved connector support that includes a connector and node growth model with orthogonal routing for connectors in system modeling diagrams
- Enhanced nested drawing model that supports parent-child relationships between connectors and the connectors nested within them
- Incremental data loading that enhances the user experience for very large data-driven models
- Diagram saving that allows systems engineers to save customized diagrams and open the same drawing at a later time
- Data filtering that helps systems engineers focus on specific aspects of complex diagrams
- Integration with Teamwork Cloud 19.0 beta
- 65% speed improvement in the layout of nested graphs with many interdrawing edges
