Local Race Car Driver Fighting for the National Championship
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (PRWEB) April 22, 2018 -- Local entrepreneur and race car driver Erik Potts will be competing this year for the 2018 two wheel drive national championship with the American Rally Association (ARA). This is Erik’s seventh season racing in the rally series and first season racing an entire season with ARA. The season starts on the West Coast April 20-22nd on the historic Oregon Trail in Portland Oregon (Oregontrailrally.com). The series consist of 7 races throughout the country and the standings are based off overall finish results. Last season he and co-driver Claudia Barbera raced only one ARA event and won their class on Day 1, Day 2, Nationally and took 2nd place over all in two wheel drive behind a Toyota manufactured driver. They also took podium honors at the historic Mt. Washington hill climb race “Climb to the Clouds” in 2017.
This season Erik will have a greater challenge as he has decided to race in class open 2 wheel drive from 2 wheel drive light. The competition is more fierce and this will be Erik’s first season racing his Subaru BRZ that is now supercharged.
