Enrollment at Wisconsin Connections Academy (WCA), one of the state’s first full-time, tuition-free virtual public schools for Wisconsin K-12 students, will close on Friday, April 30 at 4:00pm. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction requires that all families who wish to enroll in a school outside their resident district complete an Open Enrollment Application on its website before this deadline.

“The open enrollment application period is an opportunity for families to pause and evaluate which school environment is best for their students,” said Michelle Mueller, WCA principal. “Many families across the state choose WCA because we have a great group of teachers who are committed to making sure that every child is supported for success.”

In a recent parent satisfaction survey conducted by the school, 98 percent of parents indicated they were satisfied with the helpfulness of their WCA teachers and 96 percent rated teachers’ response time as excellent or good.

WCA is an online public school that offers students the flexibility to attend school from home. As a charter school in the Appleton Area School District, the school provides a supportive learning environment for K-12 students. Students benefit from personalized teaching and opportunities to meet their classmates both online via real-time class sessions and in-person during field trips and other organized activities. The school serves more than 450 K-12 students throughout Wisconsin.

“The best part of WCA is that my children have found that learning is fun. With the use of LiveLesson online class sessions, virtual whiteboards, video clips and wonderful science equipment, the children get a ‘hands-on’ approach to learning that is both interactive and exciting,” said Jane Kummer-Meyer, a parent of WCA students.
