Shop, Sample and Share the Fun at Michigan International Women’s Show Opening Thurs., May 3 in Novi
NOVI, Mich. (PRWEB) April 24, 2018 -- Fashion shows, top chefs, celebrity guests and shopping at hundreds of boutiques provide a perfect girls day out at the 23rd annual Michigan International Women’s Show, Thurs., May 3 through Sun., May 6, Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.
“Enjoy the day with your mom, sister, daughter or girlfriend and be inspired, entertained and pampered,” said Beth Anderson, executive show manager of Southern Shows. “Over 80 presentations on three stages including cooking demonstrations, firefighter charity fashion shows and celebrity appearances are all part of our show.”
Vern Yip, from TLC’s home improvement series “Trading Spaces,” will reveal design advice and home décor tips along with stories from the new revamped version of the reality TV design show. (Saturday)
Savannah Chrisley, from USA Network reality series “Chrisley Knows Best,” will share her experiences launching her “Faith over Fear” fashion line last fall and growing up under her protective, perfectionist father’s watchful eye. (Sunday)
Ann Arbor Firefighters Charities fashion show will heat up the runway Friday and Saturday with firefighters modeling their dress blues and bunker gear. Mackenzie’s Sugar House will host the “Treat Yourself Sweets Bar” prior to Friday’s show. The firefighters will also host “Blinged-Out Bingo” each day, sponsored by Salena’s Accessory Showcase.
Aussie in the Kitchen Chef Paul Penney, chef instructors and culinary experts will prepare recipes and provide cooking and baking tips at the Stonebridge Kitchen & Bath Cooking Theater delivered by Meijer + Shipt. Teen chef and baker Kamryn Chasnis, as seen on Fox’s reality cooking competition series “MasterChef Junior,” will also be demonstrating recipes. Vegan food blogger, Quiana “Que” Broden, will explain how to introduce more plant-based meals into everyday living. Sweet tea samples will be dispensed by Milo’s Tea Company. Shipt will have information on their home delivery service for groceries, home supplies and beauty and health products.
Spring makeup trends and helpful cosmetic tips will be part of the makeovers offered by area beauty experts. Guardian Angel Animal Rescue will sponsor the “Pawject Runway-Fido Fashion Show” featuring canine couture, essentials and adoption information (Saturday and Sunday). Latest styles and looks will be showcased during fashion shows on the Main Fashion Stage.
Cigna's Health Improvement Tour will conduct biometric screenings for women to learn their blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and body mass index (BMI) health numbers and health coaches will help people understand the information provided and explain how to take follow-up steps
Local artisans featuring crafts and one-of-a-kind items will be featured in the Made in Michigan Pavilion. The SNAP ME booth will create a free photo keepsake for showgoers that participate in the interactive selfie experience. CharleeJack Designs will conduct classes to create custom wood signs. (pre-registration required - complimentary and paid classes available).
Wigs 4 Kids will be accepting ponytails for Michigan children and teens experiencing hair loss as a result of illness or treatment. Show guests may donate and receive a full haircut (Adult donation $10; youth 6 - 12 $5 and kids 5 and under are free).
“Shop for the latest fashions, trendy jewelry, gourmet treats, health and beauty or find something special for Mother’s Day,” said Anderson.
Other features include special gifts to the first 100 show attendees each day; Friday’s Girls Night Out with $5 admission after 5 p.m.; Saturday’s Teachers Day with $5 box office adult admission by showing a valid school identification card and special gift for the first 100 teachers or employees; Sunday’s Mother Daughter Day features a princess charity tea party with scones, crowns and wands (donation to Wigs 4 Kids) and mother daughter look-a-like and cupcake decorating contests; and more than 400 exhibitors displaying cosmetics, purses, shoes, gifts, décor items, food, arts and crafts, clothing, fashion and accessories.

Show hours are 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday.
