Auction of Washington Wines Named No. 5 U.S. Charity Wine Auction
SEATTLE (PRWEB) April 25, 2018 -- The Auction of Washington Wines (AWW) is being recognized as the fifth largest charity wine auction in the U.S., per the 2017 Wine Spectator Magazine ranking. AWW is Washington state’s only nonprofit wine event that has been around for 31 years, raising more than $41 million since its inception in 1988. Funds raised support Seattle Children’s Hospital, Washington State University’s Wine Science Research and Education, and local organizations supporting the Washington wine community as part of AWW’s new Industry Grant Program that launched earlier this year.
Each year, Wine Spectator ranks the top charity wine auctions across the U.S., with this year AWW charting alongside fellow West Coast auctions including Sonoma County Wine Auction and Auction Napa Valley.
“We’re ecstatic to continue to be recognized next to fellow wine auctions that are really setting the bar in this industry,” said Shelley Tomberg, Executive Director, Auction of Washington Wines. “Our team is consistently in awe of the generosity and support from our state’s wine community. Cheers to another record-breaking year in 2018!”
This year, AWW events will take place August 16-18, 2018; For more information or to buy tickets, please visit http://www.AuctionofWaWines.org.
