Maryland Dermatology Laser Skin & Vein Institute announces the newest addition to their Body Sculpting center, EMSculpt by BTL Aesthetics.

BTL Aesthetics recently unveiled their newest innovation in non-invasive body sculpting, EMSculpt. Maryland Dermatology Laser Skin & Vein Institute were pioneers in developing and perfecting this technology over the last 2 years and is the first practice in Maryland to offer this treatment. EMSculpt was designed for both men and women and is a body sculpting treatment that not only burns fat, but also tightens and tones the underlying muscles.

EMSculpt uses High Intensity Focused Electro-Magnetic (HIFEM) technology to induce supramaximal muscle contractions that aren’t achievable through normal, voluntary contractions. It generates impulses at such a rapid frequency that it doesn’t allow a relaxation phase between muscle contractions, forcing the muscle tissue to adapt and respond by remodeling its inner structure that results in muscle building and fat burning.

“We are very proud to be the first practice in Maryland to offer this revolution in non-invasive body sculpting treatments,” said Dr. Margaret Weiss, co-founder of Maryland Dermatology Laser Skin and Vein Institute. “We believe EMSculpt will be an excellent addition to our Body Sculpting center.”

Founded in 1984 by Drs. Robert and Margaret Weiss, the Maryland Dermatology Laser Skin and Vein Institute is the greater Baltimore area’s leading medical and esthetic dermatology practice. With over 45 different types of laser and light based therapies, as well as numerous injectable treatments, the board certified dermatologists at Maryland Dermatology Laser Skin and Vein Institute are experts in treating a wide range of skin conditions, including acne, rosacea, aging skin, and non-invasive fat reduction.
