The Plaza at Richardson Celebrates New Pathways Memory Care Neighborhood with Open House May 3, 2018
RICHARDSON, Texas (PRWEB) May 01, 2018 -- The Plaza at Richardson announces an open house in celebration of the new secured 24-bed memory care wing expansion to the senior care community in Richardson, Texas. The open house will be held Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. This new memory care neighborhood will provide the level of necessary care for memory-impaired residents through a person centered and social model philosophy in a home-like atmosphere.
"This is an exciting expansion for The Plaza at Richardson,” says The Plaza’s Administrator, Jane Balderas, LNFA. “There is a great need for memory care in Richardson, Texas and we are proud to bring this exceptional care to the area.”
Included as part of the neighborhood are specially trained staff, including a program director, LifeTime Wellness Coordinator, as well as psychiatric, and psychosocial services. Other features include a private secured exterior courtyard, specialty memory care programing, including music & memory, and aroma therapy.
In addition to the skilled nursing and rehabilitation teams, The Plaza at Richardson, managed by StoneGate Senior Living, an award-winning full-spectrum senior care and housing company, adds a new memory care director, three full-time nurses, and six full-time CNAs to care for the residents. The Plaza at Richardson also provides occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, pathologists and physical therapists for optimal outcomes.
Special services will be offered with the goal to engage, enrich and empower residents. Examples include ‘life stories’ that give the staff the opportunity to get to know the residents, shadow boxes outside of each room to help with memory and occupation, and engagement stations where residents may enjoy interactive activities to help remind them of their past.
The Plaza at Richardson Pathways Memory Care Neighborhood will accept private pay, Medicaid as well as Medicare and will open after completing inspections.
