CAPEZIO Celebrates 130th Anniversary with Star-Studded, Entertainment Event - Monday, May 14th 2018 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas
NEW YORK (PRWEB) April 29, 2018 -- Capezio celebrates its’ 130th anniversary with spectacular entertainment event on Monday, May 14th at The Smith Center in Las Vegas, NV. A magnificent production will highlight some of the magical history of Capezio with numerous dance legends and stars of stage and screen saluting this monumental milestone. This HISTORIC Event will present some of the best in American dance and entertainment. The show will be produced and directed by former Joffrey Ballet star, Ann Marie DeAngelo. “So You Think You Can Dance” Producer and Judge, NIGEL LYTHGOE will host the star-studded event which is sponsored by Break The Floor Productions and New York City Dance Alliance.
This year’s Capezio Dance Awards introduces a historic first – unlike any other year in the award’s history, The Capezio Dance Foundation will present awards to recipients of multiple dance genres and honor several important trailblazers in the industry. Honorees include DEBBIE ALLEN for “Life Achievement” as a dancer, actress, choreographer, director, teacher and producer; Wendy Whelan for Ballet as a former New York City Ballet principal ballerina, and current programs promoter for emerging choreographers; David Parsons for Modern Dance as a world-renowned modern dance choreographer; Michelle Dorrance for Tap as an exceptional dancer and innovative choreographer; and Steve “Mr. Wiggles” Clemente for Hip Hop as a leading pioneer and inventor within his style. Legendary tap dancer and past awardee, SAVION GLOVER will be a presenter.
