Multinational Bank Automates Load Balancer Migration with Itential
ATLANTA (PRWEB) May 08, 2018 -- One of the most prestigious multinational financial institutions in the U.K. has adopted Itential’s network automation platform to execute a major upcoming load balancer migration to a new F5 ecosystem. This automated discovery and migration solution joins Itential’s platform with Cisco NSO and other key products to greatly reduce the time and resources required to conduct a large-scale migration through closed-loop automation.
By implementing Itential’s Intelligent Network Automation Manager, Pronghorn, the bank avoids the usual time-consuming, manual, and error-prone challenges that are typically associated with migrations. Additionally, they’ll be able to dramatically decrease the reliance on IT contractors that would be a necessary part of any large scale project without automation. Utilization of Itential and Cisco NSO makes migrating more than 7,000 legacy services an automated process within this new network automation suite. Moving forward, the financial institution will use Itential’s capabilities to enhance the lifecycle management of load balancing services by performing tasks such as site failover and automated patch updates.
“The fact that we can make the migration happen in a few months with less outside help is really where Itential is coming in and proving value immediately,” said Dafydd Hughes-Parry, Itential principal solutions architect.
Cisco NSO’s service reconciliation capabilities are enhanced by the layer of automation that Itential provides. Automating the processes relevant to a load balancer migration reduces migration times and helps remove the risk of outages or errors, ultimately making a project of this magnitude feasible. The bank will also use Itential’s self-service portal to create and manage new services, troubleshooting, and fault management capabilities, reducing the institution’s dependency on remote contractors.
