New Art Instruction Video Reveals Lost Techniques of Spanish Master Sorolla
BOCA RATON, Fla. (PRWEB) May 02, 2018 -- Streamline Premium Art Video has just released a new instructional video titled Sorolla: Painting the Color of Light. This video training is conducted by award-winning artist Thomas Jefferson Kitts, as he draws upon his 33 years of plein air painting experience and celebrated teaching skills to show students how they can imbue their work with dazzling effects such as the color of light, expressive brushstrokes, and bravado reminiscent of the artist Joaquin Sorolla.
Kitts studied Sorolla’s techniques in depth to understand how he accomplished his techniques. With Thomas’ guidance, students will learn how to use oil paints to contrast areas of light and shadow for drama and exciting compositions, how to convey a convincing sense of light with color and temperature relationships, how to produce impressionistic optical vibrations in paint by placing value and color contrasts next to each other, how to use brushwork in a variety of ways with confidence, and how to paint a figure.
Kitts says, “Sorolla and his contemporaries valued free and exploratory brushwork as they developed a painting …. We’re pushing and pulling, moving shapes around, and finding, in a very fluid way, the best solution possible.”
Joaquín Sorolla was one of the world’s greatest painters — indoors or out. Today we remember Sorolla mostly for his light, from his exhilarating alla prima depictions of sun-drenched landscapes, sparkling beaches filled with mothers and children at play to intimate portrayals of Spanish life. In this video, students will follow along as Thomas Jefferson Kitts shows them how to paint color and light using the working methods and painting techniques of Sorolla.
Sorolla: Painting the Color of Light is now available on DVD and streaming video through Streamline Premium Art Video.

About Streamline Premium Art Video
Streamline Premium Art Video was created because we believe art videos should reflect the quality of the artists and their artwork, with videos delving into the mindset of each artist. Each video is tastefully created, starting with proper lighting and sound as well as multiple camera angles. Our goal is to offer the viewer a higher-quality experience and more for their investment, so they can understand the thinking behind each step of a demonstration and virtually feel every brushstroke. Each artist is interviewed by an art expert, such as our editors or publisher, to help you understand everything that goes into a work of art. As we do in our magazines, our goal is to tell the full story, in depth and with a true feel for the artist.
