Effective Communication Skills is the Number One Learning Priority for Companies in 2018
CHICAGO (PRWEB) May 03, 2018 -- The number one learning priority for companies is soft skills – communication, collaboration, and leadership – according to LinkedIn’s 2018 Workplace Learning Report. To help talent development professionals address this need, G. Riley Mills, COO and co-founder of the premier global communication skills training firm Pinnacle Performance Company and co-author of The Bullseye Principle, will deliver two effective communication skills sessions at the 2018 Association for Talent Development (ATD) International Conference and Expo in San Diego, Calif.
The sessions, entitled, “The Bullseye Principle: Influence Emotion to Motivate Action,” will teach talent development professionals how to communicate using the secret technique global leaders use to influence stakeholders and build trust, quickly establish credibility by aligning voice and body language, and deliver engaging and effective training to encourage participation, build learner motivation, and ensure learning outcomes. The first session is from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 8th and the second is from 8:15 AM – 9:30 AM on Wednesday, May 9th.
“Communication, listening and assessing are the top three skills managers need to successfully develop their direct reports, but less than a third exhibit those skills, according to an ATD study. This communication skills gap affects employee engagement and subsequently the bottom line,” said Mills. “In these sessions, I’ll share the techniques performers use to ensure their messages hit the bullseye and how talent developers can use it to be more effective, persuasive and successful communicators and subsequently help their companies achieve their strategic and operational objectives.”
G. Riley Mills has taught effective communication skills to executives and CEOs in more than 30 countries. He has guest-lectured or delivered keynotes at such events and institutions as the ATD International Conference & Exposition, Columbia University, London Chamber of Commerce, New York University, Young Presidents' Organization, Cox School of Business, Southern Methodist University, Learning and Skills Conference (London), Society for Human Resource Management (regional chapters), Singapore Management University, and Manchester United. He also co-founded a nonprofit company called The Bookwallah Organization, whose sole mission is to collect storybooks, set up libraries, and promote literacy in orphanages around the world.
