PALMETTO, Fla. (PRWEB) May 07, 2018 -- With Mother’s Day approaching Manatee Farms is celebrating over 125 years of growing quality plants and flowers for Mom’s nationwide. Manatee is celebrating with the launch of a new website http://www.manateefarms.com, development of SMARTfloral technologies for retail and a focus on product selections offering only “Locally Grown” plants and certified sustainable imported flowers. In the age of tech savvy consumers and eco-conscience awareness ManateeFarms is changing the way it reaches its customers to help raise awareness of why eco-friendly floral products are important.
Manatee CEO Whiting Preston says: Consumers today want to know where the products they buy are produced. They want to know workers are properly cared for and given the proper safety training and equipment to do their jobs. Certified floral farms preserve the local ecology surrounding the farm and work to minimize their footprint on Mother Earth.
This Mothers Day - Tell mom you care enough to send plants and flowers grown by local farms or global growers that are certified sustainable.
About Manatee Farms
Manatee Farms was started by The Preston Family in 1892 as a citrus grower. In 1936, Manatee began growing and shipping gladiolus flowers. By 1989 Manatee Farms were one of the largest growers of cut flowers in the USA encompassing nearly 2,000 acres and over 400 employees. Cut flower growing and import distribution went from coast to coast, Canada, and Western Europe. Today Manatee Farms remains a local grower of potted plants and is a direct importer of cut flowers from Central and South America almost exclusively from certified farms.
The Preston's family’s long time now 4th generation commitment to the floral industry and local community is represented by its continual advancements in growing, importing and supporting its customers with quality products. New innovative marketing and technologies to help retail customers attract, engage and inform shoppers will ensure Manatee Farms continues to add value to the industry and its customers. Our mission at Manatee Farms is to improve the industry, the lives of staff and to support growers that employ ethical and socially responsible practices.
