Affirmations Don't Work! - How to Really Use Your Mind to get What You Want
MELBOURNE, Victoria (PRWEB) May 03, 2018 -- Lots of people have heard about and read the book ‘The Secret’. (Or at least watched the film). At first it sounds pretty good. They tell us to just think about what we want and it’ll fall into our laps, right?
Not so fast. The real secret ‘The Secret’ doesn't explain is that it's not as simple as just thinking desired situations, circumstances and objects.
In fact, mindset expert Sonia Devine goes as far as to say that if people are thinking about what they want and feeling negative emotion at the same time, they're actually going backwards…that is, they are actually going to attract what they do NOT want.
Sonia says that energetically speaking it’s all about feelings. The Universe responds to emotions, not words. Here’s an example: Let’s say a person wants to feel better about themselves. So, they might decide to say the affirmation: ‘I love and accept myself exactly as I am’ 10 times per day.
If that person has got some deep-seated self-hatred going on, that statement is not going to make them love themselves at all; it’s just going to make them really irritated. Because they don’t believe it, and they feel like they probably never will.
So, does that mean people should completely forget about doing affirmations and vision boards and visualizing what they want? Not necessarily. But according to Sonia, they have to get rid of the negative beliefs first, otherwise any mindset stuff they’re doing to try to improve their situation will backfire.
