Guardian ad Litem, 13th Circuit, Launches New Website – “Lift Up a Child’s Voice”
TAMPA, Fla. (PRWEB) May 07, 2018 -- For more than 30 years, the Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Program has served as Hillsborough County’s exclusive advocate for children in the court system. In April 2018, in partnership with Tampa-based marketing partner CompleteSpectrum, GAL launched a new website to better communicate their role to the community.
Guardian ad Litem is the extension of CASA in FL, and Guardians ad Litem are court-appointed special advocates whose sole job is to serve as the voice of the child – a voice that is separate from the child’s family members, foster care providers, attorneys or social workers.
“Our program actively recruits volunteers to provide support and advocacy for children in the child welfare system, and our website is a very important tool in that process,” says Yvonne Marrone, Community Outreach Coordinator for GAL. “The new site better represents the key role our volunteers play in the lives of these children.”
Guardian ad Litem volunteers work within a team that includes a Child Advocate Manager and Best Interest Attorney. Their job is to make recommendations that serve the child’s best interests.
In support of Guardian ad Litem’s child advocacy efforts, CompleteSpectrum led the design and development of a new volunteer-focused recruiting campaign and website, with a goal of helping ensure all children in Florida’s child welfare system receive the support and advocacy they need to make their voice heard.

The new website can be found at http://www.galtampa.org. Visitors to the site can learn more about Guardian ad Litem’s mission and the role volunteers play in helping advocate for children in need, as well as sign up to volunteer or make a donation that helps fund their non-profit organization.
“The Guardian ad Litem program has limited resources at their disposal to help spread their advocacy message to would-be volunteers,” continues McMillan. “The CompleteSpectrum team wanted to help make a difference in our community and apply our skills – which programs like GAL often have to forego due to budgets – in an impactful way.
