Summer Fun Starts Now in Provincetown

Celebrate the start of summer with a challenge at the Ragnar Relay Race (May 11 – 12). With breathtaking views of Cape Cod, the Ragnar Relay is a thrilling adventure, a measure of teamwork, and a perfect way to view historic landmarks like Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower. Join the waitlist to compete or cheer on your friends, family and community members as they cross the finish line at Provincetown’s Pilgrim Monument.
Continue to feed your love of the great outdoors at the Provincetown Coastal Rowing Regatta and Mini Triathlon (June 9) at Surfside Inn. Spend the morning racing in a variety of ways, including rowing, kayaking, or standup paddle boarding. Then, celebrate the successes of the day at the post-race party, with a delicious lunch and an inspiring award ceremony. Open to all levels, the regatta is a great chance to get out on the water or sit back and enjoy the view as competitors race by.
With summer around the corner, it’s time for the women-centered events to roll into Provincetown! First up is Single Women’s Weekend (May 18-20) for all those looking for love. With special events like speed dating, dance parties, mixers, and more, this weekend is the perfect time to find that special someone or simply to enjoy Provincetown with friends.
Close on the heels of Single Women’s Weekend is Women’s Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-28), an annual holiday celebration packed with fun events. Produced by Provincetown for Women and Lesbian Night Life, these three days of non-stop fun include an incredible afternoon boat party and plenty of dancing that will last into the night.
Rounding out the early summer women-centric events is Women of Color Weekend (May 31-June 3). With workshops, a basketball tournament, cookout, and the Friday Fête, Women of Color Weekend is a unique mix of powerful learning experiences, dance parties, and impactful performances.
This June, the Provincetown Business Guild (PBG) will organize the very first Provincetown Pride celebration (June 1-3). On Friday, hop on the Pride Boat Cruise from Boston to P-town aboard the Provincetown II. Then on Saturday, celebrate the opening of the PBG’s LGBTQA visitors center and join the Pride Dance Party at Fisherman’s Wharf. And on Sunday, celebrate with pride at a flotilla parade in Provincetown Harbor.
Cultural events will be out in full force this summer with returning favorites like the Provincetown International Film Festival (June 13-17) and the Provincetown Portuguese Festival (June 21-24). Celebrating 20 years, the Provincetown International Film Festival is a community staple, which attracts filmmakers, celebrities, and anyone who enjoys the art of film. The schedule for the festival will arrive in May 2018, though passes are available now.
The Provincetown Portuguese Festival is another town favorite event. A celebration of Portuguese traditions, food, music, and dance, this festival is welcome to all who wish to learn more about Portuguese culture. Cap the weekend off with The Blessing of The Fleet, an annual event celebrating Portuguese tradition with a fun-filled boat parade, fleet decoration contest, and more.
