Courier. market | bar | kitchen Opening Announced Recalling its Historic Location
DENVER (PRWEB) May 07, 2018 -- Grand Hyatt Denver general manager, Mark Stiebeling, announces the opening of courier . market | bar | kitchen. Located just off of the corner of Welton and 17th Streets, the mainline for business, Denver’s newest restaurant captures the mood and flavor of the Mile High City with a name that provides a neighborhood reference to its historic location, once the home of one of Denver’s first newspapers. Under a canopy that recalls the newspaper presses of yesteryear, culinary craftsmen bring a fresh, contemporary dining experience to the classics. Additionally, courier market provides the ideal complement with grab-and-go gourmet sandwiches and salads using only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. A bar, complete with a community table, includes a menu comprised of themed original cocktails such Tabloid, an innovative concoction of pomegranate, iced tea and prosecco or Local Edition made with bourbon, absinthe and peychaud’s bitters, along with the favorites.
When it comes to cuisine, guests are invited to stay inside their comfort zone with a selection of expertly prepared dishes reinvented such as Stroganoff, a short rib with mushroom ravioli and milk stout cream or Gnocci Mac & Cheese. The menu also allows a venture into the unfamiliar with Duck Pot Pie, Ancient Grain Paella or Tuna Deviled Eggs.
Chef de Cuisine David Lillich commented on his food philosophy in creating these and many other recipes: “Courier cuisine is inspired by beloved dishes from around the world. Our culinary team recreated these classics with a modern twist using fresh, local products and the best seasonal produce we can find.”
Here, in the cradle of the pioneer spirit, the décor beacons a time reminiscent of when newspapers were the only real source for keeping up on the events of the day. Classic file cabinets hint at the stories contained within and comfortable seating and desk task lamps inspire conversation. Fluid walls open and two private dining rooms adjoin pre-function foyers that allow for repurposing, creating custom spaces to meet specific needs.
The Courier name gives a nod to its historic location where one of the early Denver newspapers once stood providing an interesting look back as two daily newspapers raced to out-do one another. In fact, they published their inaugural issues a mere 20 minutes apart on the same day in 1859.
General Manager Mark Stiebeling said, “The unique concept for this restaurant challenged us to develop a new and different approach to the dining experience while engaging the guest in Denver as well. We enjoyed the creative aspect of bringing the classic cuisine, the theme, the décor and the destination together.”
