Stevens Institute of Technology Named Among Top Universities for Salary Potential
HOBOKEN, N.J. (PRWEB) May 03, 2018 -- Among all colleges, universities and other institutions, Stevens Institute of Technology has been named No. 15 for return on investment, without regard to degree or major, according to PayScale Inc., the world’s leading provider of on-demand compensation data and software.
According to the 2018 PayScale College ROI Report of Best Value Colleges, Stevens alumni enjoy a 20-year net return on investment between $832,000 and $932,000 dependent on whether or not they received financial aid while attending Stevens.
For business careers in particular, Stevens is named No. 10; for technology careers, No. 19. Stevens also ranks No. 10 for best-value engineering school. Compared to all private universities in the nation, Stevens ranks No. 5; and among all research colleges, No. 6 for value.
Figures represent rankings without factoring in financial aid. Rankings with financial aid typically deviate between one and four spots.

Stevens graduates are heavily recruited into competitive positions by the nation’s top employers. Ninety-six percent of the Class of 2017 secured highly competitive employment opportunities or admission into prestigious graduate programs within six months of graduation. Women in the Class of 2017 were highly recruited and 98 percent reported securing their first destination within that same six months. The class reported a record-high average starting salary of $67,600, which is among the highest in the nation.
Stevens has also consistently offered one of the highest returns on investment in New Jersey, ranking No. 1 for the second year in a row without factoring in financial aid.
CNBC’s Make It also ranked Stevens as the No. 4 undergraduate school nationwide in 2018 producing the highest-earning alumni. Rounding out the top five schools are Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, Georgetown University and Stanford University. The ranking uses the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard.
