Left Named a Finalist of the 25th Annual BC Technology Impact Awards
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (PRWEB) May 04, 2018 -- Left, a Canadian-based multinational media and technology company focused in mobile and internet-based businesses, today was announced as a finalist of the BC Tech Association Technology Impact Awards in the Community Engagement category. This is the third time Left has been nominated for the Community Engagement Award, with back-to-back wins in 2015 and 2016.
Founded 25 years ago, the Technology Impact Awards celebrate the successes of the companies, people and innovations that are transforming the British Columbia technology industry.
The Community Engagement Award “recognizes a company that has a positive impact on the BC community in which they live, work, and play” and has “corporate social responsibility as a part of the DNA of their company culture.”
“We are honoured to be selected as a nominee for the Community Engagement Award,” says co-founder and CEO, Chris Jensen. “Impact Your Community is one of our ten core values and one that our entire team lives and breathes daily. As a team of over 35 in Maple Ridge, our Lefties all volunteer a considerable amount of time - we are so proud of the give-back programs they have built and the impact they have had in their communities.”
Finalists were selected based on the quality and impact of their give-back and volunteer programs. Judges looked at a combination of the organization's current contributions in terms of charitable giving and employee volunteer hours, community impact reflected through direct community feedback, and future community impact the organization is planning to have.
