GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (PRWEB) May 08, 2018 -- Earlier this year, CasterDepot renewed their ISO 9001 certification to the 2015 standards set forth by the International Organization for Standardization. ISO 9001 certification is granted to organizations that establish and adhere to specific requirements regarding quality management systems (QMS). For renewal, a third-party auditor is commissioned to review the organization’s systems that are set into place to continuously develop and promote effective quality management systems. CasterDepot is one of a select few companies in its industry, casters and wheels, to earn this certification.
CasterDepot was originally ISO 9001:2008 certified in March 2014 after nearly three years of internal reorganization and preparations. With offices in Grand Rapids, MI, Detroit, MI and Chicago, IL, CasterDepot wanted to ensure that all quality management systems were implemented successfully in each office. Shortly after this accomplishment, Great Lakes Caster acquired Atlantic Caster in Richmond, VA and rebranded under the current CasterDepot name.
ISO 9001 QMS certification is highly valued by clients and business partners, specifically in the original equipment manufacturing (OEM) industry. OEM clients, such as those in the automotive, office furniture, medical, and aerospace industries, must adhere to a production schedule. The clear communication and quality checks ensured by ISO 9001 QMS certification help operations continue to run smoothly. Some OEMs require all their suppliers be ISO certified.
“ISO recertification was a major accomplishment for our team,” said CasterDepot’s operations manager, Scott Gordon. “Being one of the first ISO Certified QMS suppliers of casters and wheels means a lot to us as a company and we use it to our advantage. The standardization of quality management systems helps us provide superior customer service and deliver when it comes to our tagline: Expert. Easy. Every Time."
CasterDepot, Inc. is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and has additional offices in Detroit, Michigan, Chicago, Illinois, Richmond, Virginia, Nashville, Tennessee, and Jacksonville, Florida. Family-owned and -operated since 1980 and known for their expertise in the OEM and MRO casters and wheel markets, has a growing team of roughly 40 employees. The company presently services over 5,000 clients between the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
