JoeFroyo will be exhibiting and sampling their Functional Cold Brew™ beverage at the upcoming National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, May 19-22, 2018.

JoeFroyo Functional Cold Brew™ combines the kick of caffeine from cold brew with probiotics and protein, provided by premium drinkable yogurt. Featuring 15 grams of natural protein per 12-ounce serving and six live and active probiotic cultures, JoeFroyo adds valuable health benefits from dairy, all while remaining 100% lactose free. It also contains no added sugar, no artificial colors or sweeteners, no preservatives and no gluten.

“Attending the National Restaurant Association show has been a dream for three years, all during the research and development, branding and formulation of our Functional Cold Brew™,” said Zach Miller, JoeFroyo President and CEO. “We’re excited that we’re finally ready to share this innovative beverage with the world.”

Miller came up with the idea for JoeFroyo Functional Cold Brew™ after years in the retail coffee and frozen yogurt industries. “One of our most popular menu items was what we called the ‘Yo-gato’ – vanilla frozen yogurt with one or two shots of espresso floated on top,” said Miller.  As the functional beverage category began to take off, he realized combining espresso with the health benefits from frozen yogurt could fill a gap in the functional beverage market.

“The functional beverage market is seeing exponential growth right now, but wherever we looked, we could see drinks that sacrificed taste for benefits or benefits for taste,” said Miller. “With JoeFroyo, we tried to create a functional beverage that checked all the boxes.  It’s full of long-lasting energy, natural health benefits – and we never compromise on great taste.”

JoeFroyo Functional Cold Brew™ is also one of the first to market with a High Pressure Processed (HPP) drinkable dairy beverage.  High Pressure Processing creates a shelf-life for food and beverage products without relying on chemical preservatives.  HPP is common in the juice, dip and salsa industries. 

Their appearance at the National Restaurant Association show coincides with JoeFroyo’s retail launch, in the greater Los Angeles and the Seattle/Tacoma areas in late May 2018. The company will offer JoeFroyo Functional Cold Brew™ in a bottled, ready-to-drink (RTD) format, as well as an over ice version (via one-gallon jug for pour overs or a 2.5-gallon bag-in-box to be used in dairy dispensers) and a frozen blended dispensed version.
