Mixed Roots Foundation Teams Up with 23andMe, Inc. and Echoes of Hope: 6th Annual LA Dodgers Adoptee Night to Feature Olympic Hockey Team Sisters to Throw Out First Pitch

23andMe and Echoes of Hope helps Mixed Roots Foundation reach 1,000 of the Ultimate Goal of Sending 1,500 Adopted and Foster Care Kids to Attend Their First Baseball Game during National Foster Care Month

In celebration of National Foster Care Month, 23andMe, Echoes of Hope and Mixed Roots Foundation have teamed up to help reach the goal of sending 1,500 adopted and foster care kids to their first baseball game for ‘Adoptee Night’ in partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday, May 25, 7:10 p.m. at Dodger Stadium. ‘Adoptee Night’ will also feature the USA Women’s Olympic Hockey team sisters, Marissa and Hannah Brandt who will throw out the First Pitch.

“This is the sixth year we've had the honor to work with the Mixed Roots Foundation and the second year as an official sponsor," said CJ Swenson, Senior Manager at 23andMe. "Our goal is to raise awareness about this important cause and continue to be a resource for adoptees and their families, to ultimately help make a positive difference in people's lives.”

“Although, we can’t be there in person for this amazing event," said Stacia and Luc Robitaille of the Los Angeles Kings, “we are so excited that our very own nonprofit, Echoes of Hope, and our youth, will be there to support and welcome Marissa and Hannah Brandt to Los Angeles to throw out the first pitch and to celebrate the 6th Annual Adoptee Night at Dodgers Stadium. In addition to teaming up with 23andMe and Echoes of Hope along with featuring the Brandt sisters, Mixed Roots Foundation will also partner with several individuals including Michael Reagan, Congressman Brad Sherman, Vice Chair, California State Board of Equalization, Fiona Ma, Former Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, Los Angeles City Controller, Ron Galperin and LA Mayor Eric Garcetti as well as local businesses and organizations in the greater community including Sheppard Mullin Law Firm, Hilton Universal, Spokeo, Jans Enterprises, Inc., Varona Productions, Bobby Brown Foods, 99.1 The Ranch Radio Station, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, Five Acres, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, First Place for Youth, Together We Rise, Mixed Remixed Festival, Stratford School, Los Angeles Job Corps, Vista Del Mar, Pact, An Adoption Alliance, and Children’s Bureau who will also assist in the recruitment of mixed, adopted, foster youth and their families to participate as well as help raise funds to reach the goal of sending 1,500 adopted and foster youth to attend their first major league baseball game.

Mixed Roots Foundation will also host a pregame VIP Meet & Greet reception that will take place in the Loge Terrace at Dodger Stadium where individuals will have the special opportunity to meet the Brandt sisters, hear their personal stories of success as well as greet other special guests and network with valued community partners and sponsors.
