Mother's Day Wine Trail Returns in New Jersey May 12-13
CREAM RIDGE, N.J. (PRWEB) May 05, 2018 -- The Garden State Wine Growers Association’s annual Mother's Day Wine Trail Weekend returns Mother's Day weekend May 12-13. Wineries throughout the state will be scheduling special tastings, events and food offerings to celebrate moms:
Some of the highlights include warming up with an all levels yoga class Mother's Day morning at DiMatteo Vineyards in Hammonton with Namaste Mother’s Day Yoga and Wine from 10-11 am followed by light fare and a glass of select wine. Four Sisters Winery in Belvidere, Hopewell Valley Vineyards in Pennington, Laurita Winery in New Egypt, Willow Creek Winery in Cape May and Tomasello Winery in Hammonton will all have special Mother’s Day brunch offerings.
Sharrott Winery in Hammonton will have wine tasting, live music and a Mother’s Day Picnic (Sunday) with 2 food trucks on site - Top Shelf Mobile Cuisine and Paella on the Porch. Wine tasting is $10 per person and includes 6 samples of Sharrott wines. Live music features the Amy Faden Duo on Saturday, May 12, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and Mimic on Sunday, May 13, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. White Horse Winery in Hammonton will be offering live music each day and Bellview Winery in Landisville will feature new wines, the sounds of acoustic guitar and specialty platters. There is no fee to attend, just an optional wine tasting fee of $6 per person.
Amalthea Cellars in Atco will be open 11 am – 6 pm and feature tastings of some of their premier wines and Plagido’s Winery in Hammonton will be open each day for tastings from 11 am – 5 pm and feature new releases: Reverence, Dry Blueberry, & Blackberry wines, as well as the winery’s first Dry Rosé Wine. Tasting fee is $8.
Down in Pilesgrove in Salem County at Chestnut Run Farms on Saturday and Sunday 12-5 pm, guests are invited for one of the few weekends the winery is open during the year. They will be pouring free tastings of five wines.
In Mullica Hill, William Heritage Vineyards will host their annual Spring Wine & Cheese Festival May 12-13 and at Monroeville Winery & Vineyard in Monroeville, wine tasting is $10 per person and includes seven samples and a souvenir glass. Reservations are required for groups of six or more.
Working Dog Winery in East Windsor will offer free admission on Saturday, May 12 featuring entertainment from the band Williamsboy and food from the Gyros to Go Food Truck. On Sunday, May 13 there will be a $10 admission that includes a continental breakfast, the band Spoondrift and Jersey Devil BBQ food truck). Admission is$5 after 1:00 PM. At nearby Princeton, Terhune Orchards & Vineyard will celebrate with free wine tastings for moms. They will have special samplings from their own bakery. In Columbus, NJ, Iron Plow Vineyards will offer wine tasting, live music and fire pits and sweet treats by local baker The Farmer's Daughter.
In Cape May, Hawk Haven Vineyard & Winery wine tasting bar is open 11am-6pm with complimentary tastings for moms. Jessie Creek Winery in Cape May will have a Mother’s Day Buffet and local entertainer Anj Granieri from 1-5 pm.
Brook Hollow Winery in Columbia is open 12-6pm with regular wine tastings at $10/person and live music between 1:30 and 4:30pm. They also have a special Mother’s Day Package Saturday May 12th and Sunday May 13th 12pm – 6pm for $29.99 (plus NJ Sales Tax). The package includes a complete wine tasting of all of their wines with a custom etched Brook Hollow Winery Wine glass, a single rose and wine bottle of your(her) choice with custom label with personalized message. Packages must be purchased in advance.
Villa Milagro Vineyards in Finesville will celebrate “Dia de las Madres” with a delicacy native to Mexico – chocolate. They will honor your “Mamacita” with a gift long stem chocolate rose. In addition to old-world style wines, they will feature their chocolate-infused wine, Beseme (means “Kiss me” in Spanish). The price is $10 per person and includes wine tasting, gift glass and chocolate gift for Mom.
Valenzano Winery in Shamong will host their annual Mother’s Day Picnic. General admission is $15 per tickets and children 14 and under is $10.
Mother’s Day at DiBella Winery in Woolwich Township on Sunday May 13th (2-5p.m.) is $5 for pre-sale tickets / $8 at the door. Price includes wine tasting, souvenir glass and access to live music performed by Jay Gentile. David & Sons food truck will be on-site.
In Monmouth County, 4JGs Winery in Colts Neck will be featuring their wines paired with chocolates. Hunterdon County's Beneduce Vineyards in Pittstown will offer a Mother's Day Special Tasting May 12-13 of their unreleased 2016 'Tuxedo' White Pinot Noir. This estate grown wine is made in tiny quantities by very gently extracting the white juice from our black Pinot Noir grapes, yielding a richly textured white wine with complex aromatics. Upgrade to a deluxe tasting for $15/person and they'll pair wines with a seasonal selection of locally-produced artisanal cheese and cured meats.
Old York Cellars in Ringoes will be providing free musical entertainment, complimentary chocolate shots for mom, and the option to reserve a Mother's Day Specialty Tasting featuring an assortment of wines paired with hand-crafted desserts from Greensleeves Village Bake Shop. Also in Ringoes, Unionville Vineyards will host its annual Spring Wine & Music Festival on Saturday May 12, 2018 from11:30am to 6pm. The day features tasting estate-grown wines, six hours of live music, guided tours of the winery and vineyard, and all 89 acres of the preserved farm property. Guests can purchase lunch or an early dinner from four gourmet food trucks, or from several other local artisan food producers who will be sampling and selling during the event.
