Donald L. Marino, who spent four years in the army, has fought in the Gulf War, and has been involved in community theater for over twelve years, has completed his new book “Return of the Shadows Book One”: a gripping rigmarole of mythical creatures, old deities, and mundane creatures on a crusade to once again halt the resurrection of a dreadful threat to the balance of light and darkness.
Author Marino shows the idea of being fragile when divided but when united can traverse through life-threatening odds: “She picked someone to use each of these items and called them the proctors. Then she gave a green gem to the dwarfs and said it represented earth. Then a yellow one to the hawk people and said it represented air. Then a red one to the humans and said it represented fire, and finally a blue one to the elves and said it represented water. She then picked someone to use each of these items and called them the wielders. When the stones were correctly used, their energy was sent into a large crystal that was able to disperse that energy around the world, restoring balance. The trolls had fled as the shadows were no longer directing them and the war was over.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Donald L. Marino’s magical narrative follows the efforts of different races who put aside their animosities and join forces to foil the devious schemes of a raging goddess set to destroy all of creation and bring chaos.
Readers who wish to experience this grand work can purchase “Return of the Shadows Book One” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
