World Mission Leader Shares Inspiring Story of Overcoming Hardship in New Book
LYNCHBURG, Va. (PRWEB) May 07, 2018 -- What would it take for you to take a leap of faith out of your comfort zone and into God’s ultimate place of blessing? Christian author, world missionary, and successful entrepreneur, Michael Cook, has made that leap himself. In his new book, "Two Old Ladies Smiling: A Journey to My Place of Blessing” Cook shares his personal experiences with hardship, struggle, and God’s grace.
In his memoir, he challenges and inspires readers to move beyond living the life of a good and productive Christian and face the challenges that God gives, ultimately leading to God’s place of blessing. It is a story of overcoming hardship and keeping faith in God’s plan, even when you cannot understand it, and how it will ultimately lead you to God’s grace.
“Our place of blessing is not geographical, but relational with God,” said Cook. “As we draw nearer to Him, He opens up more and more avenues of blessings for us. If we look back at the legacy left to us, we can see God’s hand at work before we even existed.”
Cook’s story encourages readers facing hardship and struggle. He shares his personal experience of following the call to leave everything that was familiar to serve God as a world missionary; only to be faced with the inner conflict of having to choose to continue to serve as a missionary, or follow the biblical commandment to ‘Honor your father and mother’ by providing care for his aging parents.
Cook had his ‘burning bush’ experience during a mission trip in Nepal, and now he is inviting others to have their own. He published this book to inspire and encourage; to shed light on the life changing grace of God’s place of blessing that is waiting for everyone, if they choose to follow the call.
An inspiring storyteller, successful business man, and respected member of the Evangelical Christian community, Cook, along with his wife Sue have been involved with Christian world missions for 21 years. They are the founders, directors, and field missionaries for Allow the Children, a Christian Non-Profit, and serve all over the world including locations such as Nepal, Ghana, Haiti, and more.
