“Hunter: The Milky Way Exploration”: an absorbing space drama. “Hunter: The Milky Way Exploration” is the creation of published author JD Lecocq, a lifelong science fiction fan who graduated from Missouri Baptist University with a BA in religion and religious education, and earned an MA in philosophy and apologetics from Trinity College.
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, JD Lecocq’s new book is the striking product of an imagination firmly rooted in science fiction TV, films, and books from an early age, striving to fill a void many sci-fi stories miss: a world-view rooted in truth.
Lecocq has tried not to write a sermon but a dramatic space story that nevertheless delivers the tidbit of absolute truth the author feels needs to be said: that Jesus died for the sins of humanity.
Lecocq writes of Captain Danner’s first encounter with fate: “Was I starting to wake up or come alive in a nightmare? I was not sure which yet. I had some realistic dreams before, but this was a little over the top. Well, actually, not a little over the top, a lot over the top. All of a sudden, there was a shaking, actually more like a strong vibration, which was evidently meteors hitting the shields. This was a very real dream. I have had some dreams where I was trying to escape someone chasing me and woke up almost out of breath. I also woke up one night with my legs moving so fast I almost fell out of bed. Those dreams all had kind of a foggy existence, or my existence in them was foggy? This was not like those dreams. I felt like I was on board a ship in the middle of space. What was worse, in some ways, I felt like I belonged there.”
